UP Approves PRAGATI Park in Greater Noida: A New Hub for Robotics, AI & Advanced Manufacturing

October 30, 2026 4 min read By admin

Uttar Pradesh is taking another major step toward becoming a national hub for Artificial Intelligence, robotics and advanced manufacturing.

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the PRAGATI Park in Greater Noida, a proposed 69.52-acre platform focused on robotics, AI, technology development and advanced manufacturing. The project is expected to create more than 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs and contribute around ₹2,000 crore annually to the state’s economy when it reaches full scale.

What is PRAGATI Park?

PRAGATI stands for Platform for Robotics and AI Growth Through Technology and Innovation.

The proposed park is designed to create an ecosystem where robotics companies, AI startups, manufacturers, researchers and technology businesses can work together.

Rather than being only an industrial area, the project is planned around shared technology infrastructure, testing, prototyping, computing and skill development.

This could be particularly important for startups that cannot independently afford expensive robotics testing or high-performance computing infrastructure.

A 69.52-Acre Technology Ecosystem

The project will be developed in two zones.

The first zone will cover 8 acres and is planned through a public-private partnership model. The Greater Noida Authority will hold a 26% equity stake in the SPV, while the selected industrial partner will hold 74%.

The second zone will cover 61.52 acres and will be developed by private enterprises through investments in industrial units and related activities.

This structure is designed to bring both government-supported infrastructure and private-sector investment into the robotics ecosystem.

What Will Startups Get?

One of the most interesting aspects of PRAGATI Park is its shared technology infrastructure.

The planned facilities include:

  • Robotics testing and certification centres
  • Rapid prototyping facilities
  • AI computing infrastructure
  • Motion-capture systems
  • Data laboratories
  • GPU-based computing
  • Product testing facilities
  • Skill-development infrastructure

Startups and entrepreneurs are expected to get access to advanced testing, prototyping and GPU computing facilities at affordable rates.

For AI and robotics startups, this type of infrastructure can reduce the cost and time required to move from an idea to a commercially usable product.

From Software to Physical AI

India’s AI ecosystem has traditionally focused heavily on software, cloud platforms and digital services.

Robotics changes that equation.

Modern robotics combines AI + sensors + computer vision + automation + hardware + manufacturing.

A robotics ecosystem in Greater Noida could therefore create opportunities across multiple industries, including:

Manufacturing: Industrial automation and smart factories
Healthcare: Surgical and rehabilitation robotics
Agriculture: Automated farming and crop-monitoring systems
Logistics: Warehouse and delivery automation
Defence: Autonomous systems and advanced robotics
Construction: Automated machinery and inspection
Smart Cities: Intelligent infrastructure and service robots

Why Greater Noida Matters

Greater Noida already has a strong industrial and technology base and sits within the wider Delhi-NCR economic region.

The new robotics and AI park could strengthen the region’s position as a destination for technology manufacturing, research and startup activity.

The government has also positioned the project as a way to strengthen domestic technology capabilities and reduce dependence on imported robotics products.

A New Opportunity for AI Talent

The project could also create demand for a new generation of technology professionals.

Potential areas include:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Robotics Engineering
  • Computer Vision
  • Machine Learning
  • Embedded Systems
  • Industrial Automation
  • Semiconductor Technology
  • Data Science
  • Mechatronics
  • Advanced Manufacturing

This means the impact of PRAGATI Park may extend beyond companies and investments. It could also influence what students and young professionals choose to study and build.

What It Means for Uttar Pradesh’s AI Ecosystem

PRAGATI Park fits into a wider technology push in Uttar Pradesh that includes AI infrastructure, startup support, electronics manufacturing, data centres and deep-tech development.

The bigger opportunity is not simply to build another technology park.

The real opportunity is to connect startups + research + manufacturing + investment + talent in one ecosystem.

If implemented effectively, Greater Noida could become an important base for India’s emerging robotics and physical-AI economy.

The Bigger Picture

Uttar Pradesh is increasingly trying to move from being only a large consumer market to becoming a place where technology products are designed, researched, tested and manufactured.

PRAGATI Park is an important part of that transition.

For entrepreneurs, investors, students and technology professionals, the development is worth watching closely.

The next phase of AI may not only happen on screens. It may move through factories, robots, machines and intelligent physical systems—and Greater Noida wants to be part of that future.
